Plenty of Long Island homeowners want room for a parent or a grown child without anyone having to move. We build mother/daughter and extended living space, and rental space where the town allows it.
That can be an extension, a reworked part of the existing house, or a finished lower level, with its own kitchen, bath, and entry where the rules allow. The goal is a space that feels like a home of its own and still looks like one house from the street.
The rules for mother/daughter and accessory apartments are set by each town and village on Long Island, and they are not the same from one to the next. We handle all permits and plans, so the space is built to what your town allows.

- Is a mother/daughter allowed in my town?
- It depends on where you live. Each town and village on Long Island sets its own rules for mother/daughter and accessory apartments. We handle all permits and plans and build to what your town allows.
- Can you convert part of my existing house?
- Often, yes. Sometimes the space is already there and needs a kitchen, a bath, and a separate entry. Sometimes it needs an extension. We will look at the house with you.
- Can I rent the space out?
- Only where your town allows it, and the rules for renting to a tenant can differ from the rules for family. We build to what is permitted.
