Homes in Syosset

Syosset is an unincorporated hamlet in the Town of Oyster Bay, on the Port Jefferson Branch of the Long Island Rail Road, with Jericho Turnpike running through it and the Long Island Expressway and the Northern State Parkway close by.

Much of Syosset was built in the decades after the war, and the housing shows it: split levels, high ranches, and colonials from that era, with larger custom homes on bigger lots toward the north. Houses from those years tend to have closed kitchens, small baths, and split level stairs that break up the main floor.

For a split level, the right remodel usually opens the main level: a kitchen that talks to the dining and living rooms, new stair rails, and trim that ties the levels together. For a colonial, it is often a rear extension or a family room off the kitchen. Permits go through the Town of Oyster Bay, and we handle them.
